Bio: Joe started his insurance career with Colonial Life Insurance Company in 1994. In 1998 he became the District Manager for Colonial, representing the Rio Grande Valley. During his career with Colonial, Salazar also sold other products from other companies, including Self Funded Health plans. Through this, he was able to establish his own agency, opening offices in three different locations throughout south Texas. Salazar subsequently became a key player in different Insurance Companies' mass marketing operations in the Rio Grande Valley and the Houston area.

In 2007, Salazar was instrumental in securing Southwest Airlines Flight Attendants and Ramp Operation's insurance plans. His agency enrolled nearly 20,000 Southwest Airline employees in more than 65 locations throughout the United States that year. In 2011, Salazar helped secure Cypress-Fairbanks ISD in the Houston area. His enrollment team enrolled nearly 15,000 employees in 100 different locations in the month of June.
